Action Alert: Help Pass Law to Prosecute More Traffickers in Illinois

What Is Happening? The Illinois Senate Criminal Law Committee is considering HB 5278, a bill that gives prosecutors more opportunities to hold sex traffickers accountable. The bill also seeks to generate resources for services for survivors of prostitution and trafficking. For more details, view a fact sheet here.
When? The Committee will hold a hearing on HB 5278 on Wednesday, April 25, at noon.
How Can You Help? Call the committee members’ offices before the Wednesday hearing. You can leave a message with staff answering the phones, and say “I am calling to ask the Senator to vote yes on HB 5278 when it comes up for a vote in the Criminal Law Committee.” Calling all the offices will only take a few minutes of your time and will make real impact!
