Local FOX Chicago reporter Robin Robinson interviewed Leeanna Majors, a survivor leader with campaign partner Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, and Lynne Johnson of CAASE about the latest End Demand Illinois legislation to hold traffickers accountable, HB 5278. The bill passed unanimously in the General Assembly in May and is awaiting Governor Pat Quinn’s signature. The law reforms Illinois’ human trafficking code to include more of the ways traffickers control victims. The passage of this bill will help prosecutors more effectively use Illinois’ human trafficking laws, which in turn will protect victims. Learn more about the law here.
