Request A Speaker
Survivors of prostitution and trafficking are critical to the success of the EDI campaign. Through our speakers bureau and lobbying initiatives, survivors inform policy, help lead public education initiatives, educate lawmakers through advocacy and public testimony, and act as spokespersons for the campaign.
To schedule a presentation by a member of EDI's Speakers Bureau, contact
Kristin Claes at kristin@caase.org or (773) 244-2230 ext. 3.
Currently the Cook County Sheriff's Women's Justice Programs leads our speakers bureau for local events. Survivor speakers educate and mobilize the public while advocating for policies that deter people from buying sex.
The Chicago Coalition for the Homeless coordinates survivor leadership for EDI's state and local lobbying efforts.
Survivors are helping EDI:
- Compile diverse stories from survivors throughout the state and disseminate through various audio/visual means. Check out our videos here.
- Train core leaders on civic engagement, providing public testimony and meeting with legislators.
- Conduct media advocacy trainings and provide opportunities for committee members to speak with the press, generate media and develop media messages.
- Conduct education presentations to a wide array of community groups.
